He was predeceased by: his parents, John Murray and Cathryn McCarthy Connors; his children, John Murray Connors III and Margaret Mary Asher (Marti); his siblings, Michael, Patrick Connors, Florence Riley and Kathleen Connors; and his nephew Patrick Connors.

He is survived by: his wife Helen Ruhaak Connors; his children, James (Beth) of Louisville, KY, Kevin of Wellesley, MA, J. Michael (Angela) of Nashville, TN, Timothy (Wendy) of Atherton, CA, Cathryn Albrecht (Ray) of Heath, TX and Maureen Fraser (David) of Collierville, TN.; his grandchildren, Elizabeth Sanders (Chris), Melissa, David (Addie), Michelle Asher, Joshua (Elizabeth), Joseph (Kara), Zachary, Allison, Jacob, Molly Connors, Michael Albrecht (Mary Beth), Jennifer Holloway (Sam), Kelli Moore (Kenny), Ryan Albrecht, Erin, Patrick, Mimi, Robert Connors, Brittany, Andrew, Abigail Fraser, Sarah, John Murray IV (Clare), Charles, Mary Helen Connors, Emma, Grace and Gretchen Connors; his great grandchildren, Benjamin, Margot Albrecht, Faith, Theodore, Franklin Moore, Henry, Norah Asher, Oliver Connors, Vincent Holloway and Catherine Sanders; his sister Joan Connors of Phoenix, AZ; and his sister-in-law Gail Connors. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Due to Covid 19, a private Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Francis by the Sea for the family.
