John left this world on February 21, 2025 at the age of 80, leaving a void in the lives of so many people. He is survived by: his wife Marie G "Pidge" James; his children, Dore Smith, Steven James and Chris James; his grandchildren, Chaz, Tyler, Brandon, Jade, Nigel, Trinity, Josh, Jack, Carter, Chloe and Piper; and his great grandchildren, Kai and Ezra.
A funeral Mass will be held on Monday, March 3rd 2025 at 10:30 AM at the St Gregory the Great Catholic Church (31 St Gregory Dr, Bluffton, SC 29910).
Memorial donations may be made to LeMoyne College or Jesuit Refugee Services or the St. Francis Center on St. Helena Island.
