He was predeceased by: his parents, Dr. John F. Novatney, Sr. and Wilma P. Novatney; and his sister Joan C. Novatney. He is survived by: his wife Dr. June Pearce Novatney; his children, Karen P. Kane (Patrick) of Missoula, Montana, Steven J. (Jay) and John F. Novatney, III (Kari) of San Francisco, California; and his grandchildren, Shannon Kane, Seamus Kane, Drew Novatney, Bridget Novatney, Wes Novatney, Anna Novatney and Caroline Novatney.
