He was predeceased by: his wife Margaret Richards (Peggy). He is survived by: his parents, Griffith Richards and Marie Chamberlain Richards; his child John Jr.; his wife Julia Salim; and also, Dick Salim (Connie) of Arlington, VA and Gay Salim (Mohammad) of Boulder. He is also survived by six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
