Donald Eugene Oates Obituary
We are sad to announce that on September 18, 2021, at the age of 81, Donald Eugene Oates of Hilton Head Island, South Carolina passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Clarence S. Oates, Sr. and Eva Pearl Cooper Oates; his siblings, Wilbur Oates (Buddy), Clarence Oates, Jr. (Sonny), Audrey Grimes, Elizabeth Madagan, Lillian McKown and Dorothy Cox Dodson; his children, David W. Oates, Michael W. Oates of Winchester and Susan Oates Jones (Thomas); his grandchildren, Julia Oates Marple (Brandon) of Stephens City, Andrew Oates of Ranson, WV, Lindsay Jones of Mauldin, SC, Patrick Jones of Virginia Beach, VA and Christopher Oates of Winchester; and his great grandchildren, Bryce and Lila Marple. He was also cherished by numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, friends are encouraged to make a donation to the Judges Athletic Association at PO Box 2213, Winchester, VA 22604, or the charity of your choice in memory of Mr. Oates.
