He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Ervin Spencer and Sallie Bullock Spencer; his wife Helen McCarter Spencer; his sons, Robert Spencer (Sonya) of Gastonia and Craig Spencer (Susan) of Smyrna; his sister Geraldine Hutcherson of Hickory Grove; his son Johnie Lee Spencer; and his siblings, Bernice Ramsery (J. P.), Dorothy Ramsey (Brice), Annese McDaniel (Guy), Eula Ramsey (David) and James Spencer. He was also cherished by seven grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
