He was predeceased by: his parents, Kenneth Gordon and Janette Gibson Pannell; his wife Martha Gordon; and his brother Bobby Joe Gordon. He is survived by: his stepfather John W. Pannell; his stepsons, Michael Jordon and Walter Jordon (Crystal); and his siblings, Tony Pannell, John Pannell, Billy Gordon, Johnny Jordan, Michael Sharp and Jeannie Gordon. He is also survived by twelve grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
