She was predeceased by: her parents, Reavley Nichols and Queenie Hames Nichols Griffin; her sons, Robbin Thompson and Tim Barber; her daughter-in-law Maria Nichols; her great grandchildren, Jordan, Princeton Simpson and Giovanni Smith; her siblings, Lula Bell Reid and John Nichols; and her close friend Cozetta Feemster.

She is survived by: her children, Vivian Carothers (Paul) of Lake Wylie, SC, Sandra Elaine Nichols of Hiram, GA, Renea Barber of Rock Hill, SC, Jerry Nichols of Clover, SC and Derrick Thompson of Rock Hill, SC; her grandchildren, Corressia Davis (James), Telluss Good, Rafette Simpson, Nedra Simpson, Sharkevielle Smith (Derrick), Alexia Mia Barber, Jeris Nichols, Tanasha Clark, Timara Barber and Jhadarria Neal; her great grandchildren, Brianna Jennings, Ja'Len Simpson, Kennedie Davis, Danyel Davis, Derrick Smith III, Kaleb Smith, Reagan Simpson and Arden Gilmore; her brother Bobby Nichols of Thomasville, NC; and her sister-in-law Willie Mae Nichols of York, SC..
