He was predeceased by: his parents, Irby Pope and Eva Tanner Pope; his daughter Francine Pope; and his siblings, Alvilda Pope Russ, Olene Pope Avant, Myrtle Pope Goude, Johnny Avant and Wayne Avant.
He is survived by: his wife Mary Pope; his son Richard Pope (Angel); his grandchildren, Forrest, Christian and Garrett; and his brother Joseph Pope. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
A graveside service was held on Sunday, December 1st 2024 at 3:00 PM at the Center Baptist Church Cemetery (2602 Schoolhouse Dr, Hemingway, SC 29554).
