He was predeceased by: his parents, Sherod Thomas Chandler and Bettie Mae Watts Chandler; and his sons, Rod Chandler and Andy Chandler. He is survived by: his wife Melanie Hemingway Chandler; his daughter Muriel Taylor (Jason) of Greenville; his grandson Benjamin Taylor (Madeline Hansen) of Greenville; his brother Tommy Chandler (Jane) of Johnsonville; and his siblings-in-law, Sel Hemingway (Kathy), Bill Hemingway, Rick Hemingway (Lindsay) and Ellen Morris (Michael) of Rhems. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Friday, January 3rd 2025 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Chandler Home (1867 Henry Rd, Hemingway, SC 29554). A funeral service was held on Saturday, January 4th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Union United Methodist Church (8209 Rose Hill Road, Georgetown, SC 29440). A burial was held on Saturday, January 4th 2025 from 3:00 PM to 3:30 PM at the Union United Methodist Church Cemetery (8209 Rose Hill Road, Georgetown, SC 29440).
