He is survived by: his parents, Michael Dennis Cairnes and Teresa Elizabeth Adams Cairnes; his brother James Michael Cairnes (Tomeka) of Heath Springs; his aunts and uncles, Glenn, Debbie McAteer, Nathan, Linda Stegall, Raymond, Diane Cairnes, David and Kim Cairnes; his nieces, Natalie and Kinsley Cairnes; and his nephew Aubrie Cairnes. He is also survived by 16 cousins.
