With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Lewis Rutledge of Heath Springs, South Carolina, born in Lancaster, South Carolina, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on November 1, 2024 at the age of 64. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his father Max Rutledge; his siblings, Carla Rutledge and Maxie Rutledge; his nephew Michael Jordan; and his great-nephew Joel Jordan.
He is survived by: his sons, Cody Rutledge of Lancaster and Trey Rutledge of Charlotte, NC; his grandsons, Charlie and Tate Rutledge of Lancaster; his mother Mary Ellen Rutledge of Heath Springs; and his siblings, Beth Smith of Heath Springs, Ginger Rutledge (Mark Cragan) of Clover, SC and Mitchell Rutledge (Debbie Rutledge) of Heath Springs.
Visitation was held on Friday, November 8th 2024 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Burgess Funeral Home (1800 Charlotte Hwy, Lancaster, SC 29721). A celebration of life was held on Saturday, November 9th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the Chapel of Burgess Funeral Home (1800 Charlotte Hwy, Lancaster, SC 29721). A burial was held on Saturday, November 9th 2024 at the Pleasant Hill Cemetery.
