It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Sarah Howell Steen (Hartsville, South Carolina), who passed away on November 13, 2021, at the age of 93, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her spouse Truesdale Steen; her parents, John Muldrow Atkinson and Elise Howle Atkinson; her daughters, Mary Howell Rolfe and Peggy Ruth Howell; her brothers, Bud Atkinson, Robert Atkinson, Clyde Atkinson and Vernon Atkinson; and her grandchildren, Chris Mims and LeAnne Howell Stewart.
She is survived by: her children, Lydia Mims of Hartsville, SC, Ed Howell of Hartsville, SC, Lee Roy Howell, Jr. of Florence, SC and Faye Howell of Hartsville, SC; her siblings, Allen Atkinson of Hartsville, SC, Barbara Annelle Rabon of Lugoff, SC, Carolyn Baker of Bishopville, SC, Macy Kirven (Albert) and Margie Berry of Hartsville, SC; and her grandchildren, Marty Mims, Brad Howell, Michelle Smith, April Cole, Kim Carter, Sherry Howell, Tina Howell, Anna Howell Myer and Karey Parker. She is also survived by fifteen great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.
