He was predeceased by: his parents, William Ancil and Betty Bullard Gilbert; and his siblings, David Gilbert and Regina Gilbert Lackey. He is survived by: his wife Debbie Easterling Gilbert; his children, RJ Gilbert (Sara Beth) of Fountain Inn, SC and Laura Koch (Kevin) of Guyton, GA; his grandchildren, Cooper Gilbert, Jayden Thomas and Blake Koch; his sister Joy Watford (David) of Hartsville; his father-in-law Bobby C. Easterling of Hartsville; his niece Dedra Wiggins (Alan) of Florence; and his friend Becky Atkinson (Wayne) of Hartsville. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
