It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Ray Edward Petty (Hartsville, South Carolina), who passed away on August 16, 2022, at the age of 92, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Soonie Naomi and James Reuben Petty; and his daughter Susan Petty McElveen. He is survived by: his wife Frances Abrams Petty; and his great grandchildren, Jay, Telissa McElveen (Asher), Drew, Blair McElveen (Wyatt), Jeff McElveen, Mary Catherine, Philip Fulmer (Hank), Molly, Matt Griffin, Emily, Justin Prewitt, Rebecca, Brad Barwick (Anniston), Katie and Josh Schwartz. He is also survived by his wife and children, Ray is survived by his grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to West Hartsville Baptist Church, 1003 W Carolina Ave. or the Trent Hill Center, 522 W Bobo Newsome Hwy.
