He is survived by: his wife Greta Carter Hawkins; his children, Marion III (Lori), Elizabeth Macdiarmid (Trey) and Greta Anne Rowe (James); his grandchildren, Dargan, Carter Macdiarmid, Graham and Lyla Rowe; his sister Anne Sercer of Columbia; and his nephews, Pete and Paul Sercer.
