Though Leslie Ernest may no longer walk among us, his spirit lives on in the memories held dear by his family and friends, a guiding light that illuminates their paths in times of darkness.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Carl Pinckney Gainey and Annie Lou Dalrymple Gainey. He is survived by: his wife Edna Dora Burkett Gainey; his children, Georgina Coffey (Frank) of Manning and Spencer Gainey of Hartsville; his grandchildren, John Coffey and Meredith Coffey; and his brothers, Mike Gainey (Rhonda) of Hartsville and Reggie Gainey (Tonda) of Hartsville. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

A graveside service was held on Saturday, April 26th 2025 at 3:00 PM at the Clarendon Memorial Gardens (1237 Bloomville Rd, Manning, SC 29102).
