He was predeceased by: his parents, Olaf Lauritz Smitt and Ruth Renfroe Smitt; and his wife Sandra Faye Smitt. He is survived by: his sons, John Smitt (Renee) of Hartsville and Jeffcoat Smitt (Kelly) of Pelion, SC; his grandchildren, Tiffany Smitt, Chris Smitt and Dustin Bashore; his great grandchildren, Emma, Ally, Dawson and Knox; and his sister Diane Maiden. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
