He was predeceased by: his parents, John Wesley Clark and Annie Bell Hopkins Hooker; and his siblings, Doris Lloyd, Tyrone Clark, Ernest Boykin and Pete Boykin.

He is survived by: his wife Kay O. Clark of McBee; his son John W. Clark Jr.; his daughter-in-law Summer Clark of Hartsville; his daughter DeDe M. Blackmon (Chad Newcamp) of McBee; his siblings, R. W. Boykin of Hartsville, Junior Boykin of Hartsville, Tony Blackwell of Florence, Wesley Clark of Saluda and Carolyn Woods (Robin Minick) of Jessup, GA; and his grandsons, Jonathan Clark, Jeremy Clark, Josh Clark and Gavin Blackmon.
