It is with great sadness that we announce the death of John Hancock McCanless Jr. (Hartsville, South Carolina), who passed away on November 8, 2022, at the age of 76, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his sister Dorothy McCanless Ward. He is survived by: his wife Cathy Overby McCanless of Southern Pines, NC; his children, John Hancock McCanless, III (Hanc) of Wilmington, NC and Cate McCanless (Tim Clark) of Falls Church, VA; his sister Sarah McCanless Haarlow (Bob) of Hartsville, SC; and his grandsons, Connor, Aidan, Graeme, Ian and Owen Clark. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
