He is survived by: his wife Diane Dixon Kelchner of Hartsville, SC; his daughters, Lynn Thurman (Christian) of Hartsville, SC and Angela McElveen of Hartsville, SC; his granddaughter Sarah Polson of Hartsville, SC; his great grandchild Paris Robinson; his brother Elwood Kelchner of Hartsville, SC; his niece Christy Gilliam (Al) of Columbia, SC; his sisters-in-law, Cathy Rundell of Hartsville, SC and Doretta Brown (Gary) of Burlington, IA; and his close friend Donna Outlaw.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in his honor to the local animal shelter of one's choosing.
