He was predeceased by: his parents, James Daniel Wilkes and Estelle Moody "Essie" Wilkes; his wife Wanda Howle Wilkes; and his daughter Tina Marie Wilkes. He is survived by: his daughter Sheila Wilkes Grant (Billy) of Hartsville, SC; his grandsons, Jacob Wilkes Grant (Jessica) of Winfield, WV and William Justin Grant (Brett) of Mt. Pleasant, SC; his great grandchildren, Millie Grant, Larkin Grant, Ellie Grant and Adelline Grant; and his caregiver Gloria Fox.
