She was predeceased by: her parents, William "Boss" Steen and Ada Griggs Steen; her husband Brooks "Pete" Gardner, Sr.; her son William "Bouger" Gardner; and her siblings, Lois Jones, Jack Steen, Larry Steen and Loudoris Mier.
She is survived by: her children, Ada G. Purvis of Chesterfield, SC, Brooks "Pete" Gardner Jr. (Donna) of Pensacola, FL and Mattie May Sanchse (Chris) of Pheonix, AZ; her grandchildren, Larry Purvis, Andrew Purvis (Mary), Danny, Sissy, Ben (Faith), Ty (Shandace), Brooke (Ashtyn), Melissa (Robert) and Myranda (Cody); and her great grandchildren, Josh Savannah (Samantha), Gabby, Alexis, Zechariah, Gracie, Everett, Jake, Natalie, Linsey, Rylee, Sarah-Alice, Callie, Max, Ramsey, Paxton and Palmer. She is also survived by 3 great-great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
