She was predeceased by: her parents, Dan Byrd and Victoria Lincoln Byrd; her husband Samuel Lewis; her son William Byrd; and her siblings, Jessie Clark, Ronald Byrd, Collins Byrd, Otis Byrd, Cleo Gibbs, Essie Byrd, Milton Byrd and Floyd Byrd.
She is survived by: her children, Joyce Rogers and Preston Zimmerman; her siblings, Elma Davis and James E. Byrd; her grandchildren, Cassandra Byrd, William Byrd Jr. and Unique Pryor; and her great grandchildren, William Byrd III, Adonis Pryor and Arya Pryor. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, close relatives, and friends.
Viewing was held on Tuesday, January 14th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Young & Young Funeral Home (711 S 6th St, Hartsville, SC 29551). A celebration of life was held on Wednesday, January 15th 2025 from 11:30 AM to 1:00 PM at the New Hopewell Missionary Baptist Church (3500 New Hopewell Rd, Darlington, SC 29540). A burial was held on Wednesday, January 15th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 2:30 PM at the Florence National Cemetery (803 E National Cemetery Rd, Florence, SC 29506).
