He was predeceased by: his parents, William Boyd Gilbert and Betty Elizabeth Dixon Gilbert; his sisters, Nancy Gainey Horton and Patsy Ann Gilbert; and his niece Amber Lynn Horton.
He is survived by: his fiancée Michelle Thompson Jenkins of Hartsville, SC; his children, Nicholas Boyd Gilbert of Wingate, NC, Shana Danielle Gilbert of Patrick, SC and Katelynne Alexis Thompson of Hartsville, SC; his siblings, Scott Gainey (Mandy) of Hartsville, SC and Wanda Mims of Patrick, SC; his grandchildren, Aiden Lane Johnson and Jayce Wayne Johnson; and his cousins, Teresa G. and Gail G. Watson. He is also survived by many other cousins, nieces, nephews, and wonderful friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorials will be made to The Gilbert Memorial Fund.
