He was predeceased by: his siblings, Lester Blackwell, Alton Blackwell, Miriam Blackwell Myers, Martha Blackwell Martin, Cecil Blackwell and Barney E. Blackwell, Jr..
He is survived by: his wife Martha Ann Anderson Blackwell; his children, Joan Blackwell Hoover (Gary) of Aiken, SC and Barry Anderson Blackwell of Charlotte, NC; and his grandchildren, Kimberly Michelle Hoover of Aiken, SC and Brent Michael Hoover of Aiken, SC. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
