She was predeceased by: her husband Joseph David Southers; her children, Rickey Joseph Southers and Shirley Ann Lindenmeyer; and her parents, Herbert Smith and Lilly Cochran Smith.
She is survived by: her grandchildren, Gary King (Melissa King), Nichole Johnson (Nathaniel Johnson), Shonna Kostielney (Ricky Kostielney), Charles O'neal King, Christy Grimes, Ricky Joseph Southers II (Mary Southers), Meghan Ruiz-Morales and Taz Joseph Southers.
Memorials may be made to a charity of one's choice in Dorothy's honor.
