She was predeceased by: her father George W. Simmons Jr.; her sons, Christopher Whitfield and Paul Brandon Whitfield; and her siblings, Rosemary Black, Cynthia Simmons and George W. Simmons III.
She is survived by: her daughter Kimberly Whitfield of Reidsville; and her sister Angela S. Hadwin of Hardeeville, SC. She is also survived by 6 grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
