He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Ernestine Simmons, and James Simmons, Sr.; his children, James II, Jaden, Vince and Rosa Lee Whitehead; his sisters, Ethel M. Grant of Bluffton and Sarah E. of Levy, SC; and his aunt Rose Ella Bryant of Charlotte, NC. He was also cherished by nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
