He was predeceased by: his parents, Edgar B. Benton and Inez Fludd Benton; his wife Katherine Hope Benton; his children, Rodney Benton and Cheryl Benton; and his siblings, Tommy Benton and Shirley Benton.
He is survived by: his son Michael B. Benton of Hardeeville; his siblings, Larry Benton of Ridgeland and Mary Alice Benton of Ridgeland; his grandsons, Michael Shane Benton (Elaine) of Hardeeville and Travis Benton of Hardeeville; and his great grandchild Isabella Benton of Hardeeville.
