With heavy hearts, we announce the death of David John Scott of Hanahan, South Carolina, born in Britt, Iowa, who passed away on July 6, 2024 at the age of 85. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
Though David may no longer walk beside us, his memory will forever be enshrined in the fabric of the lives of those David touched, a beacon of light guiding us through the darkness. In his absence, his spirit lives on — a gentle whisper in the breeze, a ray of sunlight on a cloudy day, a reminder that love knows no boundaries.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph A. Scott and Lorraine M. Gelner Scott; his daughter April Scott; and his brother Jay Scott. He is survived by: his son Jerald "Jerry" Scott (Erin) of Mount Pleasant; and his siblings, Jerry Scott of Des Moines, Roy Scott of Elgin, Illinois, Vicky Groat of Fort Dodge and Gloria Van Arsdale of Richland, Washington. He is also survived by four grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.
