He was predeceased by: his parents, W. F. Hogarth and Edith Myers Hogarth; and his wife Mary Lee Hollifield Hogarth. He is survived by: his children, Jim Hogarth (Vicki) of Harleyville, Pennsylvania and Holly Warner of Rock Hill; and his grandchildren, Will Warner, Katie Warner, Meridith Hogarth and James Hogarth, III.
