He was predeceased by: his parents, J. L. Padgett and Katie Mae Wynn Padgett of Hampton; and his siblings, Alice Theresia, Virginia Evelyn Moody, Lula Mae Gooding High and Jimmy Edward Padgett.
He is survived by: his wife Eliza Padgett; his son John Brewton Padgett; his daughter-in-law Esther Kay Padgett of Brevard; and his sister Judy Carol Branton of Lady's Island. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
