With heavy hearts, we announce the death of George Washington Rutledge Jr. of Hampton, South Carolina, who passed away on July 1, 2023 at the age of 82. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Josephine Furick Rutledge and George Rutledge, Sr. of Washington; his siblings, James Spires, John Rutledge, Mary Parker, Thelma Stanfield, Minnie Lou Harley and Elizabeth Lee; and his granddaughter Tiffany Tuten.
He is survived by: his wife Ann Rutledge; and his children, Joanne Madias (Nicholas) of Allendale, SC, John Rutledge of Grays, SC, Mary Crews (Larry Prince), Edward Rutledge (Toni Trent) of Beaufort, SC, Amanda Tuten (Chip) of Furman, SC, Donna Fortnes (Mike) of Savannah, GA and Christina Rutledge. He is also survived by seven grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
