He was predeceased by: his mother Martha Alexander; his children, Johnny Alexander and Debra Alexander; his grandson Jamie Hunter; his former wife Louise Starnes Alexander; and his wife Vondell Barwick Alexander.
He is survived by: his children, Caroline A. Hamilton (Skip) of Greenwood, SC, Timothy G. Alexander (Varina) of Garden City, SC, Billie A. Holmes (Larry) of Greenwood, SC and Billy G. Alexander, Jr. (Lynn) of Talking Rock, GA; the mother of his children Martha M. Moon of Garden City, SC; and his grandchildren, Brent Hamilton, Carrie Hamilton, Sara Alexander, Leah Tjemsland, Anna Hall, Steven Holmes, Joshua Holmes, Mellisa Hunter, Jessica Alexander, Dustin Alexander and William Alexander. He is also survived by twenty seven great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren.
