She was predeceased by: her spouse Aubrey Emmett Goettee, Sr.; her parents, Joseph Carter Avant and Mary Ethel Gatch Avant; and her siblings, Haskel Avant, Lamar Avant, Woodrow Avant (Janie), Billy Avant (Ruby), Ralph Avant (Ann), James Avant (Phoebe) and Beatrice Ginn.
She is survived by: her children, Donna Goettee Ruth (Jay) of Hampton, Aubrey Emmett Goettee, Jr. of Varnville and Audrey Goettee Hutchins (Robert) of West Columbia; her granddaughter Kristen Michelle Hutchins of Tampa, Florida; her daughter Becky Avant Covington (Mark) of Beaufort; and her siblings-in-law, Marjorie Avant, Ruby Avant and Willie Ginn. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
