He was predeceased by: his parents, Abe Goettee of Washington and Viola McAlhaney Goettee; his siblings, Anna-Belle Goettee Boehm, Abe Goettee Jr. (Mamie), George Goettee, Sr. (Mozelle), Michel Goettee, Ada Goettee and Homer Goettee (Lib); and his nephew George Goettee, Jr..

He is survived by: his wife Betty Louise Avant Goettee of Hampton; his children, Donna Goettee Ruth (Jay) of Hampton, Aubrey Emmett Goettee, Jr. of Varnville and Audrey Goettee Hutchins (Robert) of West Columbia; and his granddaughter Kristen Michelle Hutchins. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
