He was predeceased by: his wife Susan Allen Hester Hindman; his parents, Edgar Lee and Varon Reeves Hindman; and his siblings, Tommie Hindman and Lynette Trotter.

He is survived by: his children, Beth Hindman Roberson and Lucas "Luke" Ellison Hindman. He is also survived by four grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
