He was predeceased by: his parents, James Ray Bastedo and Loretta Yarmuth Dean; and his sister Peggy Hubbard. He is survived by: his wife Barbara Bastedo; his daughters, Debbie Bastedo Gubbins of Pinconning and Cathy Ashworth (Bob) of Greer; his sister Sharon Jewell of Oceanside, California; his grandchildren, Christy Hovey (George), Nicholas Ashworth and Andrew Ashworth; and his great grandchildren, Marshall and Finnan Hovey.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, January 19th 2025 from 12:30 PM to 1:45 PM at the Wood Mortuary, Inc. (300 W Poinsett St, Greer, SC 29650). A memorial service will be held on Sunday, January 19th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Wood Mortuary Chapel (300 W Poinsett St, Greer, SC 29650).
