He was predeceased by: his mother Alcie Mae Hollifield Cox; his daughter Edith Kuykendoll; and his siblings, Vernon Cox, George, Alton Cox, Lillie Mae Black and Kate Burns.
He is survived by: his father Virgil E. Cox; his wife Peggy Yeargin Cox; his children, Jerry Weathers, Libbi Sosebee (Roy) of Greer and Vernon Cox (Kim) of Wellford; his son-in-law Kirk Kuykendoll of Greer; his pet Scamper; and his close friends, Tina Scroggs, Katie Sondheim Vavolizza and Tom Smart. He is also survived by ten grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren, eight great-great-grandchildren.
