He was predeceased by: his parents, Dolphus E. Roy and Ola Mac Carley Burgess; and his siblings, Frank Maurice Burgess and Teresa Burgess Rosenberg. He is survived by: his wife Evelyn Curry Burgess; his daughters, Rhonda Burgess Betcher (Gregg) of Franklin and Vicky Burgess Bryant (Dwane) of Greer; his grandchildren, Ryan Christopher Betcher, Brandi Betcher Helm (Rob), Jordan Matthew Bryant and Katelyn Alexandria Bryant; and his great grandchild Colton Betcher Helm. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
