He was predeceased by: his wife Barbara Alice Hipp Ray; and his parents, Garl Franklin and Lillie Mae Garren Ray. He is survived by: his sons, Tim Ray of Charlotte, NC and Ricky Ray of Greer, SC; his stepson Michael Davis (Joy) of Roebuck, SC; his siblings, Jerry Ray (June) of Greenville, SC, Tommy Ray (Betty) of Greenville, SC, Gary Ray of Travelers Rest, SC, Martha McKinney (Ed) of Travelers Rest, SC, Elizabeth Harrelson (H. L.) of Easley, SC and Evelyn Burr (Nick) of Easley, SC; his grandchildren, Brandon Ray (Laura), Kevin Davis and Ashley Smalley (David); and his great grandchildren, Joanna, Jep Ray, Aiden and Austin Smalley.
