She was predeceased by: her husband John Wesley Smith, Jr.; her parents, Cealus Olander Atkins and Lorene Howard Atkins; her former husband Billy Darrell Hice, Sr.; and her sister Marlene A. Pittman.
She is survived by: her children, Darrell Hice (Rachel) of Greer, Phillip Dale "Pete" Hice, Sr. of Pacolet and J. C. Wood (Todd) of Key West, Florida; her sister Dale Wood (Marion) of Greer; and her grandchildren, Preston Hice (Ellen), Shannon Hice (Melissa), Phillip D. Hice, Jr., Hunter Hice (Rachel) and Dillon Wood (Ashleigh). She is also survived by six great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
