He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Hammond and Emogene Horton Hammond; his brother Robert "Bobby"; and his son-in-law Kevin Jones. He is survived by: his wife Frankie Jones Hammond; his children, Christopher Hammond (Caryn), Heather Jones, Lindsey Strand (Jason) and Austin Hammond (Jessica); his stepsons, Luke Burgess and Andy Burgess (Amanda); his grandchildren, Madison Jones, Zachary Hammond, Isabella Jones, Meagan Hammond, Noah Jones, William Strand, Coral Hammond, Rose Hammond, Marian Strand, Leif Hammond, Emily Strand, Nova Hammond, Baby Strand and Jaidyn Burgess; and his brothers, Richard Hammond (Brenda) and Greg Hammond (Tammy). He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
A funeral service was held on Monday, April 14th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Brushy Creek Baptist Church (4999 Old Spartanburg Rd, Taylors, SC 29687). A graveside service was held on Monday, April 14th 2025 at the Mountain View Memorial Park (7 Duncan Rd, Travelers Rest, SC 29690).
