He was predeceased by: his mother Patricia Plumley Underwood; and his grandparents, Drexal, Laura Underwood, Billy Dean and Annie Mae Plumley.

He is survived by: his father Thomas "Tommy" Edward Underwood of Greer; his wife Cherish Underwood; his children, Thomas Evan Underwood of Greer, Nataleigh Underwood and Annsleigh Underwood; and his sister Laura Ann Underwood of Spartanburg. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
