He is survived by: his wife Margaret Juanita Harmon Thornton; his children, Wanda Jones (Scott) of Inman, SC and Stephen Thornton of Lyman, SC; his brother Vernon Thornton (Beverly) of Dublin, VA; and his grandchildren, Kayla Hayes (Matthew) and Tyler Jones (Halie). He is also survived by five great-grandchildren.
