He was predeceased by: his father Grover Heffernan, Jr.; and his brother Scott G. Heffernan. He is survived by: his wife Polly J. Heffernan (Fullerton); his children, James H. Heffernan, Jr. (Jay), Jeanette E. Maxey (Matthew O. Maxey) and Leah J. Hernandez (Alfredo Hernandez-Cruz); his sister Suellen Oswald; his mother Lillian J. Heffernan (Freeman); and his grandchildren, Jakob D. Heffernan (Jake), Cameron J. Maxey, Arwen E. Maxey, Zolin F. Hernandez-Heffernan, Zinedin L. Hernandez-Heffernan and Zaid G. Hernandez-Heffernan.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the ERBC Marriage Mentoring Ministry at Edwards Road Baptist Church (1050 Edwards Road, Greenville, SC 29651), in honor of Jim's dedication to strengthening families and faith.
