He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Rear and Margaret Robertson Rear; and his son Brent E. Rear. He is survived by: his wife Barbara Heacock Rear; his children, James Harrison Rear (Debra) of Monticello, Illinois and Janet A. Davis of Greer; his grandchildren, Cara Davis Powell (Christopher) of Travelers Rest, Jessica Dunn (Josh) of De Land, Anna Marie Rear of De Land and Brent Davis of Taylors; and his great grandchildren, Eden Mercer and Logan Rear.
