He is survived by: his wife Carolyn Foster Powell; his daughters, Ann Marie Harbert (Bill) of Leesville and Leigh Elizabeth Powell (Ben Barth) of Greenville; his siblings, Dr. Thomas Powell (Charlotte) of Clayton and Mary Ellen Durham of Raleigh; his grandchildren, Jordan Powell and Maggie Rutland (Tad); and his great grandchild Freya Rutland.
