He was predeceased by: his parents, Avery Lee and Hattie Evelyn Rodgers Moon; his former wife Mary Cosette Flynn; his wife Nancy Grace Hawkins; his son William Otis Moon; and his siblings, John Lewis Moon, Clarence Eden Moon, Clyde Moon, Raymond Moon, Nellie Gwinn, Erlene Link, Jewell Wood and Hattie Sue Moon.

He is survived by: his son Homer Lee Moon, Jr.; his grandsons, Bradley Moon (Katie) of Simpsonville, SC and Bryan Moon (Shannon) of Spartanburg, SC; his great grandchildren, Conner Moon (Alli), Taylor Moon and Cole Moon; and his great great grandchildren, Charlie and Colson Moon.
